Shoyo Hinata, inspired by a small-statured ace nicknamed "the Little Giant," joins Karasuno High's volleyball team only to find his junior-high rival Tobio Kageyama — a perfectionist setter called "the King of the Court" — already there. Forced onto the same side of the net, the two turn their clashing styles into an unorthodox quick attack, with Hinata's raw speed and jumping power paired to Kageyama's pinpoint sets. Together with Karasuno's upperclassmen, they aim to return the once-strong team to the national stage.
