Synopsis
Kirito and Asuna encounter Ordinal Scale, a new augmented-reality game running on a wearable device called the Augma that overlays boss battles onto real-world Tokyo. As former SAO survivors compete against AR recreations of Aincrad floor bosses, players who fight them begin losing memories of their time trapped in Sword Art Online. Kirito, initially disinterested in the new game, enters Ordinal Scale after Asuna's own memories start to vanish. This film is set between the events of Sword Art Online II and Alicization.
