Synopsis
Hotaru Ichijo, a fifth-grader from Tokyo, transfers to Asahigaoka Branch School — a rural schoolhouse so small that all five students from first grade through eighth share a single classroom. She falls in with first-grader Renge Miyauchi, whose nonsense greeting "Nyanpasu" sets the tone, and sisters Komari and Natsumi Koshigaya as they drift through the unhurried rhythms of countryside life: fishing, exploring fields, and making the most of a village with one bus route and no convenience store.
