Utawarerumono

うたわれるもの

A wounded man wakes with no memory and a mask he cannot remove, taken in by the village healer Tuskuru and her granddaughter Eruruu. He recovers among a people who carry animal ears and tails, takes the name Hakuoro, and settles into their world. When the cruel lord ruling the land pushes the villagers past breaking, Hakuoro is drawn into leading them in revolt, and a quiet recovery turns into the founding of a new nation.
