Set in the town of Mabase years after the original FLCL, this six-episode sequel follows Hidomi Nishigori, a withdrawn teenager who expects nothing from her dull life and wears cat-ear headphones that flip from blue to red when she is about to "overflow." After she is run over by a woman named Julia Jinyu, a new teacher named Haruko Haruhara turns up at her school, and the war between Medical Mechanica and the Fraternity once again breaks into ordinary life. Her classmate Ide is pulled in alongside her.
