Synopsis
Mikoto Misaka, Academy City's third-ranked Level 5 esper, can launch metal projectiles at three times the speed of sound with her electromagnetic abilities. Alongside her teleporting roommate Kuroko Shirai, the earnest Judgment officer Kazari Uiharu, and the powerless but resourceful Ruiko Saten, Misaka patrols a city of 2.3 million people — most of them students enrolled in esper-development programs. When rumors of a Level Upper sound file that can artificially boost esper abilities begin spreading through the city's underworld, the four are pulled into an investigation that reaches deeper than a simple black-market tool.
