アトム ザ・ビギニング

Five years after a disaster nobody has explained flattened much of Japan, Umatarou Tenma and Hiroshi Ochanomizu are graduate students in a Nerima University robotics lab with no funding and one shared goal: a robot that thinks and feels. The machine they finish is A106, running an artificial consciousness they call Bewusstsein, and they start testing what it can actually feel. Tenma wants to know whether they have built a god; Ochanomizu would settle for a friend. The Tenma name points toward Astro Boy, though this telling runs a history of its own.
