Haseo and the other players from .hack//Roots and the .hack//G.U. games receive an email from Ovan calling them to a Hidden Forbidden Festival, a summer matsuri staged inside the online game The World. There they meet an AIDA called Chim Chim, which asks to live alongside players rather than attack them and then reshapes itself into the word Returner, which the group reads as a sign that Ovan will come back. This one-episode OVA is a short side piece, not part of the main .hack//G.U. arc.
