Synopsis
Kanji Sasahara enters Shiiou University still hiding his otaku interests until he joins Genshiken, short for the Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, a club devoted to manga, anime, games, and doujin. Among regulars like the blunt veteran Madarame and the hardcore fan Kousaka, Sasahara learns to own his hobbies. Kousaka's fashionable girlfriend Saki Kasukabe, the lone non-otaku, keeps getting dragged into the clubroom and reluctantly into its conventions, cosplay, and collecting.
