Higurashi When They Cry: Abducted by Demons Arc

In the summer of 1983, Keiichi Maebara moves to the quiet rural village of Hinamizawa and quickly falls in with a tight after-school games club: cheerful Rena Ryuugu, brash Mion Sonozaki, and the younger Satoko Houjou and Rika Furude. Village life feels warm and easy until Keiichi learns that, for four years running, the annual Watanagashi festival has been marked by a murder and a disappearance. This first arc opens the When They Cry mystery, with the same days replayed and re-examined across later chapters.
