Occult Academy Specials

世紀末オカルト学院スペシャル

These four short specials jump back to Maya Kumashiro and Ami Kuroki's childhood, when the two discovered a strange serpent-like creature on the academy grounds and started keeping it as a secret pet. Each episode runs only a few minutes, played for gags rather than mystery.

The Qwaser of Stigmata Picture Drama

The Qwaser of Stigmata Picture Drama

聖痕のクェイサーピクチャードラマ

Ekaterina Kurae, one of Seikon no Qwaser's supporting Qwasers, carries all sixteen of this picture drama's two-minute segments, in scenarios disconnected from the TV series' ongoing plot. Bundled with the show's Blu-ray releases, it trades story progression for fan-service vignettes built around Ekaterina rather than protagonists Mafuyu and Sasha, and nothing in it affects or advances the main series continuity.

The Qwaser of Stigmata: Portrait of the Empress

The Qwaser of Stigmata: Portrait of the Empress

聖痕のクェイサー女帝の肖像

Adapted from chapter sixteen of the manga and treated as an unofficial episode 10.5, this OVA gives Ekaterina Kurae her own side story set apart from Seikon no Qwaser's main timeline. The tone shifts hard toward comedy and fan-service, with Ekaterina at the center of situations played for laughs rather than the series' usual Qwaser conflicts. It leaves the arc of protagonists Mafuyu and Sasha untouched. Like the Picture Drama specials, this is bonus content built around a single supporting character rather than new plot for the main story.

Together the pieces add about five minutes to the first season.

Hetalia World Series

Hetalia World Series

ヘタリア World Series

Italy still thinks mostly about pasta, Germany still tries to drill him into shape, and Japan still watches it all in silence, while the nations of the world carry on as bickering young men. This continuation of Hetalia: Axis Powers widens the cast, pushing America, England, France, Russia and China further forward. Each short episode stages a loosely historical scenario, from alliances and world meetings to travels and petty squabbles, played as gag comedy rather than straight history.

11eyes: Pink Fantasy Tale

11eyes: Pink Fantasy Tale

11eyes: Momoiro Genmutan

In Momoiro Genmutan, 11eyes' Red Night gives way to a "Pink Night" parody that recasts the cast's dead-serious Black Knights as the comically over-the-top Pink Ero-Rangers. Bundled as a bonus episode on the series' seventh Blu-ray/DVD volume, the one-off short leans into slapstick and fan service instead of continuing Kakeru and Yuka's story. It states outright that it has no bearing on the main 11eyes storyline, existing purely as a comedic aside for the home-video release.

Kure-nai OVA

Kure-nai OVA

紅 OVA

Shinkurou Kurenai still works as a professional dispute-settler with young Murasaki Kuhouin in his care, but across these two episodes the pair's day-to-day life gets far more room than the TV series ever gave it. The show's darker action-thriller edge also gives way to a lighter, comedic tone. Character designs here follow the original light novel and manga instead of the anime, and the plotting sticks closer to that source material as well.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls Specials

百花繚乱サムライガールズ

Bundled as bonus content on the Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls Blu-ray and DVD volumes, these six three-minute shorts pull Muneakira Yagyu and Jubei Yagyu's household into comedic, ecchi-flavored scenarios that skip past the student-council conflict entirely: a locker-room inspection gone wrong, a beach trip, a photo mix-up that spirals into a misunderstanding. None of it advances the TV series' plot; the shorts exist purely as lighter, in-between material for the same cast.

The second has each of them looking ahead to what she wants to do with her life next. Neither carries the main plot any further.

Welkin Gunther's Squad 7 gets a trailer for a film that was never made. Bundled with the ninth DVD volume of the Valkyria Chronicles television anime, this one-off short plays the Gallian Militia's war against the East Europan Imperial Alliance as movie-promo pastiche, with the voice-over cadence and hard cuts a real trailer would use. It is a disc extra rather than an episode of the series.

Its subtitle traces the line onward from Char to Full Frontal, pointing viewers at Gundam Unicorn.

A petty argument over soy sauce is all it takes for Nodame Noda to accept a date with Lucas Beaudry, the French piano prodigy she knew back when he was a small child. Lucas turns up fifteen years old, several inches taller, and noticeably more grown-up than conductor Shinichi Chiaki remembers. Chiaki's jealousy over the outing turns this bonus episode into a straightforward comedy about a couple who still haven't quite said the obvious out loud. Bundled only with the limited edition of the manga's 24th volume, it never aired on television.

K-ON!!: Ura-On!!

K-ON!!: Ura-On!!

けいおん!! うらおん!!

Yui Hirasawa, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka, Tsumugi Kotobuki, and Azusa Nakano turn up in deliberately crude comedy skits drawn as if Yui had scribbled them herself in MS Paint. The gags are absurdist and unconnected, running through random themes like cooking mishaps and sibling squabbles, with no ongoing story linking one episode to the next. These shorts were bundled with the K-On!! Blu-ray and DVD releases, and the rough art style carries as much of the humor as the jokes do.

Oreimo Animated Commentary

Oreimo Animated Commentary

俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない SDキャラによるキャラクターコメンタリー

Bundled with the Oreimo Blu-ray and DVD releases, these SD-chibi commentary shorts put deformed versions of Kyousuke, Kirino, and the rest of the cast in a booth to riff on each episode, though they mostly ignore it. The chibi alter egos wander into tangents and inside jokes instead of recapping the story, treating the format as an excuse for loose, meta comedy rather than a serious behind-the-scenes look at the series.

Baka & Test: Summon the Beasts Specials

Baka & Test: Summon the Beasts Specials

バカとテストと召喚獣スペシャル

Bundled as Blu-ray and DVD bonus content for the Baka & Test TV anime, these six short specials play out as comedic side-skits leaning on the cast's established running gags. One recurring bit follows Muttsurini, whose secret photography of male and female classmates funds his other hobbies, while another segment turns into a cooking demonstration mixed with live-action footage. Each episode runs only a few minutes and assumes familiarity with the main series' characters and jokes.

とある科学の超電磁砲: もっとまるっとレールガン

Misaka Mikoto, Kuroko Shirai, Kazari Uiharu, and Ruiko Saten spend these two Motto Marutto Railgun specials trading jabs about each other's quirks and rehashing running gags from A Certain Scientific Railgun. Bundled with the first two Blu-ray and DVD volumes, the shorts skip the main plot entirely in favor of loose, fourth-wall-adjacent comedy built around the cast's established dynamic.

Originally released as an internet-exclusive short, it plays the group's mismatched personalities for laughs rather than advancing the mafia-succession plot, with cameo visits from franchise regulars Belphegor and Squalo.

The first episode seats Tsunayoshi Sawada, Hayato Gokudera, and the volatile Xanxus together, while later episodes rotate through guests including Kyouya Hibari, Byakuran, and Mukuro Rokudou, playing their rivalries and clashing personalities for comedy rather than continuing the main story.

Set in Osaka just after the events of Detective Conan: The Lost Ship in the Sky, this Magic File OVA follows Conan Edogawa and Heiji Hattori on what should be a simple errand: eating okonomiyaki together. Kazuha Toyama tags along as the pair's plans keep derailing into small, unrelated cases along the way, turning a food outing into a string of miniature mysteries before they ever reach the restaurant. The tone stays light, closer to a comedic travelogue than a case with real stakes.

Haiyoru! Nyaruani

Haiyoru! Nyaruani

這いよる!ニャルアニ

Nyaruko, the anthropomorphized and endlessly chaotic form of Lovecraft's Nyarlathotep, turns ordinary teenager Mahiro Yasaka's household upside down across nine Flash-animated shorts, the earliest anime adaptation of the light novel series. Mahiro spends most of his screen time correcting Nyaruko's misbehavior, while newcomer Cthuko, an anthropomorphic version of Cthugha, develops an open crush on Nyaruko that adds a second layer of chaos to the house. Episodes run just a minute or two apiece, building to a longer finale.

MM! Hidden Camera Shorts

MM! Hidden Camera Shorts

えむえむっ! えすえすっ！

Bundled across the six Blu-ray and DVD volumes of the MM! television anime, these nine one-minute shorts push the source material's fetish gags even further than the TV cut allowed. Tarou Sado, Isurugi Mio, and the rest of the cast reappear in quick, 'somewhat extreme' comedic bits rather than any continuation of the club's storyline. Each short functions as fan-service filler tied to a specific home-video volume, not as new content in the main series.

This film condenses the original season into build-up for an all-new final showdown.

Ahead of the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu: Matsuri OVA, this three-minute promo debuted at Comiket 78 in a visual-novel-style format made to look like it is playing on a handheld console screen. It runs through three short skits featuring the light novel cast, with the viewer's choices supposedly branching which one plays, though the outcome barely changes. It was later bundled with the Matsuri OVA's first Blu-ray and posted to the official website and YouTube.

Letter Bee Academy

Letter Bee Academy

テガミバチ学園

Letter Bee Academy reimagines Amberground as a classroom, with Dr. Thunderland as the teacher and Lag, Connor, Zazie, Gauche, and their Dingo companions as students who'd rather nap and snack than sit through lessons on spirit amber or gaichuu. Included as a short bonus on the Japanese Letter Bee DVDs, its twenty-five three-minute episodes play the main cast's dynamics for classroom gags instead of drama, a purely comedic companion to the main series.
