Mahiro Yasaka, an ordinary high school boy, is attacked by an alien monster and rescued by Nyaruko, a silver-haired girl who happens to be the Lovecraftian deity Nyarlathotep in human form. Sent by the Space Defense Agency to protect Mahiro from an alien trafficking ring that wants to abduct him, Nyaruko moves into his house and aggressively pursues his affections. Fellow Lovecraftian aliens Cthugha and Hastur soon follow, turning Mahiro's home into a chaotic cosmic share house.

As in the series, the boys turn dull afternoons into elaborate bits — staging imaginary heroics, overthinking small encounters, and dragging each other into pointless schemes. The extra sketches were released with the home video volumes and play as bonus comedy beside the main episodes.
